THE STEADY STATE ENDORSES ADAM HAMAWY FOR NEW JERSEY’S 12TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT
WASHINGTON — The Steady State, an organization of more than 420 former national security, intelligence, diplomatic, military, law enforcement, and homeland security officials, today endorsed Dr. Adam Hamawy for New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District.
Adam Hamawy is running for Congress in New Jersey’s 12th District. After earning an ROTC scholarship to attend Rutgers, he joined the New Jersey Army National Guard, and worked his way through Rutgers Medical School, treating victims and first responders in a field hospital at Ground Zero on 9/11. He rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Army and served as a combat trauma surgeon in Iraq - one of his patients was now U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth. Since completing his service, he has worked in New Jersey emergency rooms, built his own practice in Princeton, and volunteered to treat patients in war and disaster zones around the world.
Adam Hamawy demonstrates a consistent commitment to the rule of law, supports nonpartisan oversight and accountability of the Executive Branch, exhibits a substantive understanding of the national security challenges facing the country, and upholds the democratic norms and ethical standards of public service that the organization’s criteria require.
“This endorsement isn’t about any single issue. It’s about whether a candidate can be trusted to defend the Constitution when it matters most. Adam Hamawy has shown they can,” said Steven Cash, Executive Director of The Steady State.
