WASHINGTON — The Steady State, an organization of more than 420 former national security, intelligence, diplomatic, military, law enforcement, and homeland security officials, today endorsed Hon. Chris Coons for Delaware’s Senate Seat .

Chris Coons represents Delaware in the U.S. Senate. He grew up in Hockessin, Delaware, and before joining the Senate spent a decade in New Castle County local government after working as an attorney for W.L. Gore & Associates and earning degrees from Amherst College, Yale Law School, and Yale Divinity School. In the Senate, he serves on the Appropriations, Foreign Relations, Judiciary, and Small Business & Entrepreneurship Committees. He is a Ranking Member of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, where he works on national security funding and oversight for U.S. troops and defense programs.
