THE STEADY STATE ENDORSES SALUD CARABAJAL FOR CALIFORNIA’S 24TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT
WASHINGTON — The Steady State, an organization of more than 420 former national security, intelligence, diplomatic, military, law enforcement, and homeland security officials, today endorsed Hon. Salud Carbajal for California's 24th Congressional District.
Salud Carbajal represents California's 24th Congressional District and is running for reelection. He earned his bachelor's degree from UC Santa Barbara and a master's in organizational management from Fielding Graduate University, and served eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, including active duty during the 1991 Gulf War. In 2004, he was elected to the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors, where he implemented a county Climate Action Plan and expanded solar energy access, before being elected to Congress. In Congress, he serves as a senior member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
Salud Carbajal demonstrates a consistent commitment to the rule of law, supports nonpartisan oversight and accountability of the Executive Branch, exhibits a substantive understanding of the national security challenges facing the country, and upholds the democratic norms and ethical standards of public service that the organization's criteria require.
"This is a candidate who understands that institutions only survive if people are willing to defend them, even when it costs them something," said Steven Cash, Executive Director of The Steady State.
