Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-20)

WASHINGTON – The Steady State, an organization of more than 420 former national security, intelligence, diplomatic, military, law enforcement, and homeland security officials, today endorsed Hon. Debbie Wasserman Schultz for Florida's 20th Congressional District.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz is running to represent Florida’s Twentieth Congressional District and currently represents Florida’s Twenty-Fifth Congressional District. A longtime member of Congress, she serves on the House Foreign Affairs and Appropriations Committees. Her Appropriations assignments include Military Construction, Veterans Affairs and Related Agencies and Energy and Water Development, giving her direct responsibilities involving military installations, veterans programs, and Department of Energy national-security activities.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz demonstrates a consistent commitment to the rule of law, supports nonpartisan oversight and accountability of the Executive Branch, exhibits a substantive understanding of the national security challenges facing the country, and upholds the democratic norms and ethical standards of public service that the organization's criteria require.

"Debbie Wasserman Schultz understands that oversight and accountability aren't obstacles to good governance – they're the foundation of it. That understanding is why we're proud to stand behind this candidacy," said Steven Cash, Executive Director of The Steady State.
