THE STEADY STATE ENDORSES GEORGE WHITESIDES FOR CALIFORNIA’S 27TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT
WASHINGTON — The Steady State, an organization of more than 420 former national security, intelligence, diplomatic, military, law enforcement, and homeland security officials, today endorsed George Whitesides for California’s 27th Congressional District.
George Whitesides represents California’s 27th District and is running for reelection. He served as Chief of Staff for NASA during the Obama administration, where he led reform efforts that helped enable current U.S. space leadership and received the agency’s Distinguished Service. He then served as the first CEO of Virgin Galactic, growing the company into a global aerospace firm over a decade. He has also co-founded Megafire Action, the first organization dedicated to solving the nation’s megafire crisis, and co-chaired the Antelope Valley COVID-19 Task Force, for which he received NASA’s Exceptional Public Achievement Medal.
George Whitesides demonstrates a consistent commitment to the rule of law, supports nonpartisan oversight and accountability of the Executive Branch, exhibits a substantive understanding of the national security challenges facing the country, and upholds the democratic norms and ethical standards of public service that the organization’s criteria require.
